Occupational Therapy

The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. HCHS occupational therapists analyze the physical, mental and social components of an activity that may have been lost due to illness or injury, and then help patients adapt to their limitations and resume the activity.

Physical Therapy

The physical therapy department at Harlan County Health Service provides services to help individuals develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability. When movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors, HCHS certified physical therapists develop customized programs to help individuals gain or regain movement potential.

Speech Therapy

HCHS speech therapy specialist evaluate and treat individuals with communicative, voice, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. Our speech-language pathologist can determine the extent of a patient's impairment and develop a treatment plan for patients of all ages.
