Jeff Shelton, CEO

Jeff SheltonPrior to joining Harlan County Health System, Jeff Shelton was director of cardiopulmonary services at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, where he was responsible for a 46% growth in cardiology, neurology, sleep medicine, pulmonary medicine, and pulmonary clinics during his tenure. Jeff came to Nebraska from Kentucky, where he had been assistant director of cardiopulmonary services for Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He earned his masters degree in Health Administration from Bellevue University and a BS in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He also holds an AAS in respiratory care from the University of Kentucky, and is a respiratory therapist. He is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives and was state lobbyist for Nebraska for the American Association of Respiratory Care.

Manuela Wolf, Director of Nursing

A native of Germany, Manuela immigrated to the Republican City area in 1994. Trained and active as an emergency medical technician (EMT) on the Republican City Fire and Rescue Team, Manuela decided to pursue a career in nursing. She first become an LPN, achieving that goal in 2000, then received her RN degree from the Bryan School of Nursing in Lincoln in 2003. Prior to joining Harlan County Health System, she was employed for nine years by the Franklin County Hospital.

Suzanne Lans, Comptroller

With an extensive background in accounting and finance, Suzanne was comptroller for Allmand Brothers in Holdrege, a post she had held for 15 years, prior to joining HCHS in 2009. As comptroller, she audits accounts and supervises the financial affairs of the hospital. Suzanne also holds an AA degree in secretarial science with accounting emphasis, and received her BS in business administration, accounting emphasis from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Suzanne has had additional training in situational leadership as well as in other management and financial seminars.
